Industrial Vacuums

The MaxVac line of industrial vacuums can pick up a variety of sizes and types of material. From dust to 8" rocks, wet slurries or very dry.

The vacuums can pay for themselves in a short period of time if the material has value, like copper or gold ore. Operation is simple- press the run button on the digital display, pick up the nozzle head and start cleaning up.

How does it work?

  1. A vacuum hose with a nozzle is used to pick up material
  2. The patented 3 stage/compartment separation circuit separates the heavy material from the very light dust
  3. The heavy material falls into the hopper below (other designs are available)
  4. The very fine material is filtered out by the membrane cartridge filtration system (99.97% efficiency of 0.33 micron)
  5. Continual compressed air-pulsing is used to clean the filter elements without shutdown
  6. The hopper on this machine is removable with a fork lift and manually dumped

What kind of materials will it pick up?

Any wet/dry, hazardous, or abrasive materials. In mines, it is used to pick up large rocks, fines (wet and dry), acid puddles, and just about everything else that is spilled. It is also used to transport light material, such as fines from baghouses.

Large Rock:
Figure 1 below shows a 150 HP MaxVac that was shipped to a copper mine in Arizona, USA. This machine was put on rails beside an overland conveyor. It is sized to pick up 8" rocks. Another machine like it was used to follow a tunnel boring machine to remove all the debris generated.

Fines and dust:
Figure 2 shows a typical dust pile that has formed on a belt with leaking dust seals (see DCT for a solution to this problem).

Figure 2

The MaxVac can remove this dust easily. Figure 3 shows a picture of another demo where fines are being removed beneath a conveyor.

Figure 3

The fines contain a high concentration of ore and have value. The table below estimates this value from putting the fines back into the process.

Max Model MV40
Hopper Type Continuous Dump
Hopper Size 1.8 cu/yd.
Time To Fill Hopper 5 min.
% Cu in Dust 0.3%
Value of Cu 50% of $.71/lb (?)
Value of Cu, 24 hrs $1640/day

If the vacuum is only used 150 days per year, then up to $245,000 will be obtained by processing this material. Payback of the machine is accomplished within a few months.
